QSi in Process of Converting all Safety Data Sheets to new GHS Standards

Quantum Silicones prides itself in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.  Recently, the United Nations introduced the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS).  The purpose was to standardize the health, physical, and environmental hazards of a chemical as well as how companies communicate those hazards.  As a result of this new standard, QSi is in the process of updating its Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and labels.

“Over the next few months, all customers and distributors will be sent new versions of SDSs that are GHS compliant. At that time, we strongly encourage our customers to carefully read over the SDS,” states Anna Clark, business quality manager/safety director. “During this transition to the new system, we are re-evaluating all of our products, so there may be new and/or different information being reported.”  The label on QSi’s products will also appear slightly different in order to incorporate the new requirements.

Once you receive QSi’s new SDSs, please be sure to pass them on to the person in your company who is responsible for maintaining and distributing them. Digital PDF versions of all SDSs will also be available on QSi’s website located on product pages and in the technical library. If you need further information, please contact Anna Clark via phone, 800-852-3147 or email, aclark@quantumsilicones.com.
